Is It Wrong To.......

....smother my husband in his sleep? I'm just asking cause I'm not sure it is!!

Our remodeling continues and out of sheer exhaustion....we both fall into bed each night dead tired!! My darling love immediately falls asleep.....I however.....am not so lucky!! Why you ask......the man snores like a wild bear!! In fact.....the other night....the cat tried to smother him for a bit of peace and quiet only to get sucked up his nose and shot across the room when he exhaled his chain saw groan!!

I've tried everything to get him to stop!!! I've gently nudged him.....

....but still he snores!!

I've tried to ignore the sound......

...but still....he snores!!

So I've decided....smothering may not be my only option....

Yep!! Good nights sleep......here I come!!

Nighty night!! Sleep tight!! Don't let the bed-bugs bite!!

Say What?!!?!

here in the McClure household we have 2 computers.....knowing that with a teenager in the house.....having 2 computers is the only way in which Rick or I would ever see computer time!!

You'd think we'd never be without a computer right????? Umm.....yea.....not so much!! Both of our computers caught a bug and crapped!! We were able to get 1 back today but the other needs a lil' more T.L.C......which I'm pretty sure means they will be charging me an arm besides the leg I've already paid!!!

So until we are up and running again......hope you are all enjoying the sunshine and sprouting trees!!

Happy week!!

God Bless the United States of America

May He hold us close and guide our governing officials always, but especially during these country changing decisions that appear before us!! Let them decide based on the foundations of our country as it is.....not what they strive to create!!

God be with you all congress men and women!! Stand strong....walk in the steps of our founding fathers.....let America return to the greatest country in the entire world as it will without your interference.....follow the constitution in it's perfection......speak for those you represent, not for yourselves, nor for your brothers and sisters in congress.....let not yourselves be "bought off".......be with them all, Father.

Let us all hold our country in prayer this weekend and in the days which follow!! May God bless America!!

This Is My Life......This Is My Life On Daylight Savings Time!!

How many of you love daylight savings? I mean.....what's not to love right!! It stays light out until 8pm or so already!! You can actually accomplish something after dinner is over and put away.....and it's still daytime!!

Yes.....it's great!! You go to bed when it's still light out so you can't fall asleep until 4:30a and then you get up when it's dark out 2 hours later!! Really......what's not to love!!! And is it just me......or.....does this happen to everyone?

In my mind....

....this is me with extra daylight in my day!!

Here's my reality!!

My plans for the day include......no require I accomplish much!!

However......

......ummmmm.....not so much!!

I've tried different techniques to "pep me up".......

....but I always have the dreaded "sugar/caffeine crash"!!

I get frustrated with myself!! I mean......geesh.....

And then I remember.......Hope your day is full of energy.......and caffeine!!

Skunk Spray Solution

Here is my tried and true skunk spray solution. I don't remember where I found it, however we've used it MANY times over the years....in fact....Brady showed Opal for several years in 4-H...and I used this to make her coat SHINE!!!!!

1 bottle peroxide
1 box baking soda
a few drops dish liquid
enough warm water to make a gallon

Just dissolve the baking soda in the liquid and apply in halves.

We wet the dog....lather with dog shampoo....pour 1/2 solution on and wash the dog very well.
Rinse.
Apply last 1/2 of solution.
Rinse well.

There ya go!! That's my tried and true de-stinker!! Hope you never have to use it....but...should you need it....it works!!

What the......

As I've been saying w/ every post.....our world is chaotic. We are exhausted by 9p and ready to drop into bed for a few hours rest before starting the new day all over again....

Last night I let the our loverly Miss Opal out at 8:45p to go potty before bedtime. She didn't come back quickly and immediately I started worrying. You may remember that Miss Opal is a lover of all things stinky......nothing sends my love over the edge faster than a big pile of poo!! Why just admire from afar.....oh no....she loves to roll and roll and roll in it!! So.....you can see why I became concerned!!

Suddenly.....she appeared out of the darkness.....looking a bit damp!! OH MY GOSH!! What the h3ll............
....Yea!! She had a lil' one on one w/ ol' Pepe la Peu!!

I love her....but I'm gonna sell her to the gypsies!! I'm off to scrub s'more......and that includes the inside of my nose!! Have a stinky day yourself!! :O)

I'm still finding my way around and not sure what all it entails, however....it seems to have great information and great tools for improving one's weight and health....and it's free!!! If you are on or have been on let me know what ya think!!

I look forward to this journey to better health.....hoping your day is just as sunny as it is here in Ohio!!

Things I've Learned While Remodeling Our Kitchen

Remodeling is always a learning process!! You learn things about the actual process.....you learn things about yourself and/or your spouse if you are doing the work yourself.....you learn things about your home.

I thought I would share my new educational lessons.....

1) We learned our family was actually much larger than we realized!! When you move your oven only once in 100 years......dust bunnies set up colonies underneath!! We discovered a lovely town.....Stewtropolis.....complete with the finest in schools......a wonderful church, library and post office.....and the cutest little strip mall....in fact.....the founder, Stew was an architect and created just a beautiful town!!! Sadly......I sucked the entire thing up with the vacuum!!

2) At some point during the process of remodeling.....you question what the problem was with the original kitchen. Why did we start this? At this point it becomes the fault of your spouse....why is he never satisfied with what we have????? Want is a very bad trait!! tisk!! tisk!!

3) When you are required to complete the remodeling project because your kitchen cabinets are now in a pile on the floor and you have everything you shoved into those cabinets piled in the family room.....and the dining room......and the hallway.....and the laundry room.....and in your child's bed.....and the remodeling project starts to look amazingly wonderful.....it was your idea all along to start said project!! It is great to be a dreamer!!

4) When working with your spouse on a remodel, neither one of you can be right all the time!! Sometimes you're right......sometimes he's wrong!!

5) No matter how cute your hubby is......no matter how he sweet-talks ya....don't fall for the line, "can you hold this up for me for a minute?" That is male code for.....stand here and hold this 1000lb. cabinet over your head for 4 hours or until your arms fall off while I put 1400 screws and/or glue and/or nails and/or a staple or 2 in.

6) If you choose to fall for said line.....it's probably not the appropriate time to criticise his "attaching" technique!!

7) Once you're in full blown....over your head.....in too deep to turn back now.....remodeling mode....remember that your husband is working very hard to bring your dream to fruition!! You've invested time and money....sweat and tears into the project together!! Hubby has worked every possible moment on completing the project to your liking!! Don't forget to show your appreciation to him.......I find screaming "THANK YOU!!" through clenched teeth as you're storming to lock yourself in the bathroom makes him feel all warm and fuzzy....and appreciated!!

8) Remodeling and redoing is great.....it's a fresh start......it makes you appreciate your home.....you are proud of the work you've put into it......you appreciate the sacrifice in funds because it has cost 14 times what you thought initially....yes, indeed.....remodeling is a great experience...Note to self......NEVER remodel kitchen.....EVER AGAIN!!!

So there you have it!! My life lessons learned through a remodel!! Hope you are learning something new each day too!!

Make it a good one!!

Okay......Here It Is......

My big announcement!! I am soooooo excited!! I've been busting at the seams for a while now!! We've been planning and dreaming and preparing already!!

Guess what.......

Rick and I have been invited to be a part of several AMAZING....FANTASTIC...Prim HEAVENLY shows this year!!!

August 14.......A Humble Past in North Lima, Ohio
sponsored by Piney Creek Primitives

September 18......In the Spirit of Friends
at Malabar Farms in Lucas, Ohio

This is an amazing show sponsored by Black Cat Primitives on the grounds of this beautiful farm. In it's second year, this strictly hand-made primitives and antique show looks to be even bigger and better than last year!!

October 2....A Simple Country Gathering in Hanoverton, Ohio
sponsored by Days Gone By

We are very excited, and proud to be a part of each of these shows. Being strictly handmade is something very important in these times with so many of the imports infiltrating stores and local shows!! Showcasing the primitive and antique style adds a wonderful element. Quality handmades and primitive stylings combine to create a truly amazing show experience with lots to choose from.....and lots to buy!! It truly makes the day great fun for the vendor......and great fun for the shopper!! Where else can you find so much prim eye candy to purchase all in one place?

So there you have it!! Start saving now!! Put your family on a diet......wash clothes only once a month, and then only if completely necessary......get rid of any extra children, cats or dogs lying around....sell your husband's kidney.......anything you can so you have lots of extra change to spend!! :O)

I'll be offering much more information as the time draws near......so stay tuned!!

Have a great Tuesday!!
